My Sisters is a good place for the community. The clients' lives become a bit easier.
By Anne Birgitte Haahr Andersen, volunteer in My Sisters, 2008
This says Sisay Tulu, the 34-year-old Project leader assistant in My Sisters, who already sees a development in the clients' lives, even though he has only worked here for 8 months. He has a degree in Leadership- and Development studies from the Mekane Yesus Seminary.
Sisay Tulu applied for this job because he thought My Sisters was doing a good job in the community. He likes serving God. Before working in My Sisters, he for 10 years was a volunteer in the Church and helped with Sunday school. He was a committee member of the same Church for 4 years.
Have many strings to pull
At My Sisters, I am an assistant for the project leader, he says. My job is to supervise the different groups, such as youth group and support group for the HIV positive clients. I meet with the home visitors and social workers and make reports. I have many strings to pull.
In his spare time, Sisay Tulu loves reading in and teaching the Bible. His favourite quote is: There is none like God. But I also like playing football, he says.
