ECONOMY
My Sisters started as a small group of women who wanted to help themselves as well as others. Since then, all help and activities have been controlled by the funds provided, all the time making sure that the means available were used to meet the present needs of the client group as well as possible.
From the beginning, a lot of the money was earned through a bridal rental shop and a second-hand shop. My Sisters still has the second-hand shop, but it only provides a very small share of the funds. The second-hand shop sells the clothing given to My Sisters, but unsuitable for giving to the clients.
The main share of the budget is funds raised from private persons, among them Scandinavians. Some give regularly to a sponsorship child, while others give an amount once or more times.
My Sisters depends completely on the support donated by people with a heart for this group of poor clients, whether the money is donated directly to a child or in other ways.

Project with Swedish support
In 2007 My Sisters launched a project financed by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA) that makes it possible to educate the employees through courses and more. Among other things the project also covers support groups for HIV-positive clients, youth clubs and teaching in the local community, besides courses for foster parents. It is a three-year project both aiming at strengthening the organization by capacity building and giving My Sisters a good chance to build up the local community. A number of activities parallel with the existing activities of My Sisters.
